After processing and praying for a new word for the new year, I’ve landed on BELIEVE.
God knows this word is needed in my life right now. There are things and people I have to believe God for. Regardless of the circumstances. I must believe.
I often pray this prayer, “I do believe, but help me with my unbelief,” from Mark 9:24.
Yes, I have unbelief. I wish I didn’t, but I do. Just being real with you. For example, I struggle with believing the dreams I have. Wondering if they are mine or His. Even 1% unbelief is still unbelief, is it not?
To believe God 100%, I must surrender all of my thoughts to Him and lean deeper into His promises from the Word. Resting in Truth alone. I must respond to His call of action because I believe God more than I believe my doubts and fears that seem real.
As I learn to believe God more, I believe I will experience more of His presence. More fruit. More love and peace and joy. I’m all in for that. Who wouldn’t be?
I love knowing God intimately, don’t you?
Now to learn to believe Him more. Time to speak more belief.
Here’s a verse I will be clinging to from The Message:
We’re not keeping this quiet, not on your life. Just like the psalmist who wrote, “I believed it, so I said it,” we say what we believe. And what we believe is that the One who raised up the Master Jesus will just as certainly raise us up with you, alive. Every detail works to your advantage and to God’s glory: more and more grace, more and more people, more and more praise! 2 Corinthians 4:13-15
****PS Please pray for someone I love in need of serious mercy and protection. Name and information private at this time.***

"Believe" is an awesome word for this new year. I am believing HIM for a great and wondrous thing: I long to be all HE created me to be…I know I am still a work and progress and will be til my dying day, but I long to grow closer to my goal this year.
Hugs and prayers, andrea

Awesome word – so glad you introduced me to this idea. I have embraced my 2010 word "JOY" several times already this year. It is so easy to SAY we believe but often our actions and emotions tell the whole truth….
Promising to pray for your loved one –

I think of Abraham who believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness. Belief is the key to the opening of the doors of God, I believe…. Yet fear so easily comes to steal away….. Why is it so much easier to fret, fear, worry than believe?
Great word, Tiff!

This post spoke so strongly to me. To just believe seems so simple, but we as humans want to understand everything in our human minds…which just doesn't work. To believe and to have God help our unbelief…beautiful!

Tiffany,
What a great post and it's funny I just bought a Believe star this weekend. Must be on to something. Lifting up your prayer request and asking God that He will be in the details of this prayer and His will as always we be done!

Great word. Believe is what it is all about. I think most of us struggle with that bit of unbelief. Mine comes from knowing "me" and thinking "no way" do I deserve any good that God has for me. But then I remember HIS Son paid a dear price for me to be called 'his" and it changes everything. I believe I am worthy, because I was bought with a price!

Believe is exactly what I am doing. I believe he is going to show up and show himself this year. I am believing for a few things actually. Great word and very encouraging. Thanks for sharing this. Bless you Tiffany

I remember when I was a teen there was a televangelist I loved watching. I think it was Robert Schuller. One Sunday they announced an gift they were offering. A necklace with a pendant of the word "believe". I cherished that thing for years. I have no idea what happened to it. It reminded me that I believed in all things God/Jesus/Holy Spirit. Now, today when I hear or read anything that mentions believe I think of that pendant.
What a great reminder. Thank You Father God. In Jesus' name, amen.

Tiffany, I haven't read your blog in quite awhile. But, I am glad I did today. The two posts I read today are words to me from God. I am a missionary, BELIEVUNG that I will move ti the Upper West Region of Ghana this spring. I will be working with AIDS orphans. With my eyes, I don't see how it will happen. I am 50% funded for the five year committment. I keep doing my part, speaking at churches and wherever I can. And I have begun to pack some items that I won't be using until there. I believe, Lord help my unbelief! PS Pray for me as i travel snowy and possiblt icy roads this weekend! God is definately taking me out of my comfort zone!
