What would you say if you had to answer this question: What is truth?
Truth is. . . fill in the blank.
I can imagine we’d hear a multitude of different answers. Truth is relative would be one of them. Right? But is it?
I believe the Bible is truth. Absolute and final truth. Answer to life and death. Yet do I live that truth out? In some ways, I stand tall saying, “Of course, I do.” And then there are the old thought patterns that are latched onto me like a Pit Bull. They are not truth but rather lies. Lies that won’t let go. I will have to risk losing part of my skin and muscle on my leg in order to get the dog off of me. Not a pretty sight. Rather bloody actually.
But worth it.
I’d rather live as scarred person than risk missing out on the freedom of the truth. My dog’s been dragging me down way too long. Time to fight. And kick the tail end of the mutt off of me and LIVE! Live according the truth–the Word of God.
John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Yes — it’s so much better to live “scarred” than live in lies! How well I know that one. I’m trying to lose those lies myself. “Away with you!”
Great post!

That’s such a great mental picture of what it feels like to battle the lies sometimes. Thanks for the great imagery!

Thanks for stopping by my blog ๐
I have enjoyed reading some of your posts ๐
I so agree with you on your “truth” post. So often we listen to the lies for so long – that it becomes our version of truth….sad really!!
I think a lot of us need to keep fighting that “dog” off of our legs and re-visit His WORD to know what TRUTH REALLY IS!!
I also liked your post re: laughter….God has been reminding me to LAUGH more with my kiddos too ๐
Blessings!
hope to visit you more often – great stuff here!

Truth…..I pray our hearts continue to hunger for it for here in the good old USA.
I challenge anyone reading to this shake that dog off and press into Jesus. He is the author of truth.
We have had enuf of lies in our daily walks of life.
Good writing Tiffany.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Always nice to have a new visitor!
In reference to the verse you quoted (Jn. 8:32)…if the truth sets us free, then lies do what? Put us in bondage!
Thanks for the great thoughts on the truth of God’s Word.
