I loved this all day workshop, Passing the Baton. I attended it with my dear friend and spiritual mentor, Sheila. It was a free conference because they were taping it for an online course. Coming soon–February–they are guessing. I’ve never been so pampered during a teaching workshop. We drank Starbucks coffee during breaks, ate Chick-Fil-A sandwiches for lunch, and devoured cheesecake during our last afternoon break. I was a ball of nervous energy, thanks to caffeine. Okay, enough of the food and drink.
Jeff Meyers was the presenter. He shared in a real, funny and passionate way. I loved his stories, the video and movie clips, and the Bible references. Here are the six key points from our workbooks:
1. The most important thing one generation can do is equip the next generation to glorify God.
2. The most effective way to equip the next generation is life-on-life influence.
3. Discipleship that flows naturally from you is not a burden to carry, but a gift to give away.
4. We teach what we know, but we reproduce who we are.
5. You’ve got to be in it to win it.
6. Your greatest influence will be seen in the lives of those you train, long after you are gone.
I am thankful for the another opportunity to learn. I love learning. I love to be spurred on. I want to be a lifetime learner. Always growing, always changing. Becoming more like Christ for a watching generation to see. Especially for my two kids.
Lord, help me. You know how self-centered I can be. You know how easily I am discouraged. You know how easily I wave my white flag and say “I can’t do this. This is too hard.” Strengthen me to stand firm in the face of adversity. Help me fight the good fight of faith. My children are worth it. They are a gift from you. Amen.

Thanks for adding their link! They love me there now because I just bought some of their items on clearance for our ministries family resource room!
Leaving a legacy is a passion of mine. Scripture is full of verses that tell us to share with the future generations the blessings of the Lord.
