The Reason I Live

Today I’ve been reflecting on the reason I live. The reason I get up each day. The reason I love pictures and words and laughter. The reason I still have breath. The reason I live right now, in 2010, in the United States of America.

And the reason I live is: to bring glory to God, glory to the One who saved me: Jesus, my savior and LORD.

My life is not about me. It’s not about what I want or what I think or what others think. I cannot get stuck thinking about me and my safety anymore. I’ve lived there too long.

I must jump with Jesus. With arms wide open, ready to soar on wings like eagles.

So tonight, I praise God, both for who He IS and who I am IN Him.

Embraced. Safe and secure.

    Each day my prayer consists of a desire to be a living sacrifice to the Lord. I do want God to be pleased with my life and how I demonstrate Christ to others.

  17. I know that 'stuck thinking.' And I know I am not honouring God's love for me when I decide to dig in my heals. Why would I not want to 'soar on wings like eagles'? I'm scared of heights, it is true, but God always has HIs hand on me, if I don't reject His love.
