Where are you with trusting God?
Be honest. You don’t have to share your answers. Do you trust God a little or a lot? What percentage would you say if you had to? 25%, 50%, 75%, 99%, 100%?
Over the past couple years, God is teaching me to truly trust Him. And I’ve never felt so free! I’m not sure I’m 100%(though I’d love to say that and mean it), but my faith is growing as I learn to trust Him.
I no longer need answers to my past. My “why’s” fade. I see God rebuilding the places in my life that were once ruins. A miracle!
I no longer need answers about tomorrow. My “what if’s” shrink because I remember my future is sealed and my days numbered. God knows. Therefore, I don’t need to know. Ahh, relief. No more panic attacks.
I rest in walking with God just for today. He’s with me always. I find my peace and comfort in His presence. I hold on to people loosely and God tighter. Each day becomes an adventure. I thank Him more. Small things I see and hear throughout my day speak God’s heart,
“I’m with you. I love you. I see you.”
My world is more vibrant, full of rainbow colors. Full of promise. I hear conversations clearer. I see more spiritual symbolism in the ordinary. My heart is open to receive all God has for me today. He’s not limited by my doubt as much. Joy fills my emptiness. Truth replaces lies. Songs bubble to the surface where there was once only fear and shame.
So why am I saying this? Because I want to encourage you to trust God for your today. Today is all you have. This moment God is present and speaking. Focus on who He is. Praise Him. Trust Him to show up for you today. God is close to the brokenhearted, so if you are hurting, that means you. Even though your circumstances aren’t changing fast enough, allow God to change your heart. That’s what matters to Him most. Your heart.
God wants full access to your heart. Why not give Him your whole heart today and trust Him?
You’ll be glad you did. I know I am.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:4-5(NIV).

As a child whose parents were evangelists and then pastors in home mission work, there were a great number of times in which we all had to trust God…I mean totally rely on Him for food or clothing. He ALWAYS pulled through. I think that is the reason I have trust in my adult life. Miracle by miracle. provision by provision, answer by answer He built my trust in Him . Amen!

Tiffany,
I love this post! I too, am guilty of not trusting God til I am way too deep in my own failures and have no where else to turn but Him. I need to start with 100% each and every day.

I trust Him 100%, but I must also admit I had to learn this lesson through many, many, tough lessons. It did not come easy!

Great post. We spend so much time worrying about what we can't even do anything about. I try hard to focus on today but don't always succeed. Good reminder,

Struggling to trust Him today, not with wanting to, but with actually letting go and letting God.
Thank-you for this encouragement.
LOVE the photo!

Tiffany, your words are just beautiful, and you've captured the beauty of trusting in the Lord. I believe that it is a choice to trust Him with our lives, just as it is a choice to have faith in Him for our tomorrowsbut when people have let us down, He knows that too, and will gently hold on to us til we can feel His faithfulness and love. I know that leaving the past behind and in His hands is a huge step in freedom to worship and receive all that He has for us.
You are such a sweetheart, Tiffany, and I love the way you express your sensitivity to the Lord's voice and leading…you have a teachable spirit, and are an encourager. Bless you!

Beautiful encouragement! This sentence really spoke to me…"I no longer need answers about tomorrow."…this has been tough for me because I am a "planner" and a "fixer"…but when my eyes were finally opened to what totally trusting God meant, I became FREE from anxiety and worry about the future…praise God!
Alicia, The Snowflake says
That has been one of my favorite verses since I was a teen. My prayer is that I do trust Him with all my heart, but I am afraid that some days I fall short of that mark. Thank you, though, for the reminder to keep trying. May we never give up on following Him!

That is truly a breath taking photo! I can't imagine waking up to that kind of scenery!
Thank you for your encouraging AND challenging words today. My knee jerk response was "of course I trust Him 100%!" But then the still small voice said, "didn't you just write a post mentioning an anxiety attack? " (Angels Unaware) and "why is it that in your family everyone jokes that they don't need to worry, that they can just let Jacque worry for them?" OUCH!
OK Lord, time to lean on you more!
Thanks for this very timely post, right before the holiday season!

Such precious words. I am working on this; truly I can say that I trust God so much more than I did just a few years ago. His faithfulness is amazing!
Your words remind me of the studying I've done this morning in Psalm 123–hand maiden with eyes on her Lord until He shows His favor. Thanks for sharing.

It would be so wonderful to say 100% but what a lie that would be. I too find that things I use to beat myself up over, don't really surface in my mind anymore. So is that more God and less me? I sure hope so! Yes, today is the only day I can give HIM, yesterday is gone and tomorrow may not come. Excellent blog!

Tiffany:
Beautiful picture and lovely thoughts. God has been teaching me this year about truly trusting in Him. Yes, I've said many times that I trust Him, but how much? But He is absolutely, 100%, trustworthy.
Still growing and learning!
