Time again to reflect and be thankful. This week my list doesn’t roll out like it usually does. I’ve been a bear as a mom. For some reason, I’m harboring some unresolved anger. Gotta give it to God. I don’t like who I’ve been this week to my children. Even to my husband. It doesn’t help I had someone post negative comments on one of my posts from 2005 last night. I guess if I choose to write about controversial subjects, I open myself up to persecution. So be it.
Okay that’s off my chest, on to my list of gratitude.
I’m thankful for:
God’s unconditional love. He loves me when I’m grumpy. He loves me when I’m furious.
Hannah’s understanding and forgiving heart. I apologized for my anger this morning. She said, “I forgive you. Will you forgive me for my grumpiness?”
Justin asking me for help with his English outline. I thought he bombed it. So I was frustrated helping him, thinking he wasn’t prepared. He got 19 out of 20 points. Guess he was more prepared than I thought and he just needed a little guidance to land it!
my mother-in-law, Joan. She has such a servant’s heart. She teaches me to give gladly. She loves, loves her grandkids. She calls me to ask to have them for the day or a sleepover. A lot of my friends say they have to beg their mom or mother-in-law to watch their children.
another opportunity to write for Focus on the Family.
a friend’s honest e-mail. I replied with a written prayer. Nothing brightens my day more than a chance to express love to someone hurting.
a more social week. I’ve had more on my calendar than usual. It feels good to have a reason to shower. ๐
Hannah’s music concert at school this week. I love watching her sing and try not to grin and giggle on the stage. She’s adorable.
my husband’s commitment to me and our marriage.
my new blogging friends. I so enjoy hearing from others. I’m amazed at their encouragement. Don’t we all need more of that?
**Hey, this exercise actually helped. This is what the Bible means by “giving thanks in all circumstances.”

Thanks for sharing your list! I know it hurt to receive comments that are negative, I have had those too but someone has to post about the controversial right?
Thanks for joining in even though you were feeling down today!

Blessings for the remainder of your week. The fact that you chose to do the right thing after your grumpiness speaks a load. Praying that your grumpiness would be easy for you to leave at His feet.
Hope to see you around – I am getting back into the swing of blogging.

Lord, I lift up Tiffany and put her in your arms. Bless her heart and honesty. Like chaff blow away the negative and replace it with wonderfully growing fruit. Comfort and teach her in the way that you can.
Praise opens wide the windows of heaven.
Bless you Tiffany….we all love you.
