I love reflecting on the good in life. The news highlights stories that are hard to hear. Murders. High oil prices. Job cuts. Super bugs. Disease and poverty. War. I get overwhelmed by it all. So pausing to be thankful warms my heart.
Today I am thankful for:
the pain I’ve experienced. It has softened my heart to others who suffer.
my husband. He blesses me with his humor and songs. He’s a happy man.
books. I love finding great titles at the thrift stores. My to-be-read stack next to bed is about eight tall.
my friend, Katie. She taught me how to make jewelry on Tuesday. I love being creative. And I love heart to heart conversations with a hot cup of coffee.
Starbucks. As a freelance writer, I get tired of writing from home. I’m sidetracked by my laundry pile. So for a change, I found a cozy chair at Starbucks and wrote with the music and people around. It was a refreshing change. I felt more alive. I may have to go once a week for inspiration. However I couldn’t believe they don’t have free wi-fi. What’s up with that?
hope. Hope for tomorrow gives me a reason to get up everyday. Each day holds new opportunities for me to share, serve, and love. And the best hope of all is knowing one day heaven will be my home. No more tears.
God’s goodness. I sometimes wonder why God is so good to me. I’ve got a track record of rebellion. I’m blessed with a home, husband, two children, my health, opportunities to write, and friendships. The list continues.
music. I love the way music fills my heart with joy! I’m often dancing and singing with my arms wide open, praising God in my house. I’m glad no one is watching. Except my daughter. She laughs. She must think I’m quite the character. I may not have the best voice or moves, but I have heart!
Satisfied with God’s love today,
**Thank you Crystal for hosting this week’s Thankful Thursday.**

I love reading your list. Books, a friend, a husband…we all are so blessed. And yes, sometimes, I wonder why God is so good to me. But then He is, all the time!

One of these days we should meet at Starbucks, set up camp with our laptops, and write the afternoon away. Wouldn’t that be fun? (No promises about how much work will get done.)

I am thankful for being alive and having my husband and our family together. Our daughter is still alive and my husband is still alive and it is a wonderful thing. I pray for others who don’t have their loved ones this season. I know how lonely it can be.
I am grateful.
Blessings to all.
