This Thursday, I am thankful for my husband Derek’s employer. Especially the owner. Why? Because he treats Derek right–more than right actually. This Saturday, Derek and I leave for a business trip to Florida. Usually Derek travels alone, but his employer has always said, “Take your wife sometime.”
Years have went by and we are finally able to swing it. The kids being on summer break helps. Plus, they are a little older, so it’s easier to leave them with trusted friends and Grandma. Anyway, his boss not only paid for my flight but also suggested we stay in a beachside hotel. I am overwhelmed by his generosity and kindness.
Derek and I will have all day Sunday together. During the week while Derek works, I plan to write. My prayer is I will be inspired there. I need to get this teen girls book proposal and sample chapters done. I have a looming deadline, June 30th.
Pray for our safe travels and our time together. Pray for our kids while we are gone. Pray for me to be creative and productive.
This Thursday I feel such gratitude. I thank God for the ways He blesses my life. I thank God for my husband’s employment in this economy. Derek has stuck it out during some hard times with this company, including a change in ownership, and now I see the benefit of his perseverance.
