A Prayer for Mothers Day

Lord God Almighty, what a joy it is to snuggle in Your daily grace. Thank You for who You are in my life and for opening my eyes to Your great love. Thank You for giving me the gift of motherhood. I am so unworthy, I fall so short, and yet You continue to lavish me with Your sweet presence. Thank you for my son and daughter. Thank You for the life of Grace. I praise You as my Creator. Thank You for creating me. Thank You for creating mothers. We are unique, by Your design, with significant purpose! To nurture and love those gifts of life You bless us with.

Mother’s Day is coming up this Sunday so I want to pray for all mothers. Mothers past, mothers present and mothers yet to be. Mothers who are without their children for whatever reason. Hurting moms. Teen moms. Late-in-late moms. Adoptive moms. Joy-filled moms. Silly moms and let’s not forget the serious or overwhelmed moms. Moms who feel like they don’t measure up. Moms with wayward kids. Mothers who have children in heaven.

Mothers, all mothers.

I pray for all moms today. May we know Your love more and more.

Lord, please strengthen us for the task of loving well today.

May our children grow up and call us blessed– all because of You.

Lord, be our Compass so that we may guide our sons and daughters.

Be our Comforter so that we can comfort.

Be our Joy so that we can rejoice.

Be our Hope when we feel hopeless.

Be our Song when we need a melody.

We love You, Jesus. Thank you again for the gift of motherhood. May we treasure our position today and always. You’ve entrusted us with the greatest privilege: the gift of life.

Jesus, You are my life.
