Do you need to “redo” something from yesterday or even last week? An assignment gone bad? An ugly argument? An overdrawn debit transaction? A night of indulgence?
If so, you are not alone. We all mess up. As hard as we try we still fall short. We are tempted and sometimes we cave in. In our weakness, we react and there is no “delete” button. We can’t reverse our past choices, but we can move forward.
Today is a new day. A day to redo our yesterdays.
How so you ask?
Do today what you wish you would’ve done yesterday. Redo whatever it is. If you wish you would’ve restrained yourself with sugar, do it today. If you wish you would’ve held your tongue in the heat of the moment, do it today. If you wish you would’ve said sorry, do it today.
God’s mercies are new every morning.
God is Love. . . and Love covers a multitude of sins. (see 1 Peter 4:8)
Receive this hand as a sign that today is a new(redo) day. Lean on God. His hand will hold you. And remember, YOU, my friend, are engraved in the palm of God’s hand. (see Isaiah 49:16)
Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV)
I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me. They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work. Nehemiah 2:18 (NIV)
(This picture is my daughter’s hand. She stamped it to remember to redo her math homework. She didn’t do it right and wanted to give it another try. Yes!)

Somedays it’s the little things I want to re-do, being more attentive to my daughters, cleaning the kitchen before I left for work, sending the note I’ve been wanting to get in the mail, etc. BUT you’re right His mercies are new, even for the little things!! Glad I stumbled across your blog tonight! Thanks 🙂
