This past weekend, my family and I went to the zoo again. Before we visiting the animals we drove up a mile long curvy road to Will Rogers Shrine. From this monument, we saw the entire city of Colorado Springs.
(The Broadmoor Hotel and golf course. There’s a reason it’s a 5 star, 5 diamond resort, don’t you think?)
Justin tried to see further than his natural vision with this machine(not sure what it’s called). No such luck without a quarter. But hey I got a good picture! ๐
Every time I see the words “Turn to clear vision” I am reminded of God’s truth.
Turn.
Turn.
Turn to clear vision.
In order for me to live a victorious, joy-filled life in Christ, I must turn to God to clear my vision. I must add His lens because my natural tendency is see life through a distorted lens. By turning to Jesus, I see beyond my circumstances and receive hope, encouragement and fresh perspective.
Direct me in the path of your commands,
for there I find delight.
Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain.
Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
preserve my life according to your word. Psalm 119:35-37
Lord Jesus, thank you for the reminder to turn to You and clear my focus today. I need You. I need Your words of life. Without Your powerful eternal lens, it’s easy to get discouraged, defeated and depressed. And that’s no way to live. You came to give me life to the full right here and now. You came to give me clear vision. I receive it new again today. I turn my thoughts and focus off of myself again and back onto to You. What a greater beauty and perspective. Be thou my vision! Amen.
(Love this version of the song Be Thou My Vision by Selah. Video quality here is fair. Feel free to worship along with me.)

Hopping on as a follower…must have missed the widget last time I visited.
Thanks for the reminder in your post today, makes me think of a hymn we often sing…"Help me see things now as I one day will." God does clear our vision, thankfully.

Good thoughts about clearing our vision. Vision is often easily blurred by the world!
Is that Justin or Derek at the viewing machine?
