The first thing I do when I wake up is open all my blinds. I see this cross every morning, it hangs right by the wand to open the blinds in my living room near an east facing window. I love to see the morning skies. I love how the sunshine shines brightly and warms this room especially during the cold of winter.
Anyway, one afternoon as I relaxed and read a book, I glanced up. I saw these stripes. They grabbed my heart. I felt like God was speaking.
“By my stripes, you are healed.”
Thank you, Lord. Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for taking on my sins and the sins of the world. Thank you for enduring such cruelty, pain and death so that I may be set free. I can’t imagine the price you paid. It’s too much. It’s too kind. It’s amazing, perfect and captivating love! I love you!
I once thought about moving this cross to another location. I’m so glad I didn’t because every sunny afternoon these stripes appear and remind me of the price Jesus paid!
Thank you, Father God, for sunshine made stripes and how they remind me of YOU!
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 (KJV)

Remembering Good Friday. Love you all! Here’s an amazing video in honor of Christ. I cried.
Thank you for joining me for another Stop, Look and Listen where I share how God speaks through the simple, the everyday, and the ordinary moments of life.

It’s Friday…but Sunday is coming. A good motto to remember in our moments of anguish and trial…Sunday…May we always remember the victory of Sunday while not forgetting the sacrifice of Friday. Blesings to you today!

I love this! Oh, how I love the amazing and awesome ways He speaks to us…even through the everyday ordinary things around us!
I am glad you stopped by my place. It is so nice to “meet” you! I saw that you used to also do a blog on shame. Are you still working on a book on shame? What a fantastic topic. I am WELL acquainted with shame. I am so thankful for Jesus, who was not ashamed to reach down and not only touch this filty soul, but embrace her and call her His own. ๐
Blessings, sweet Tiffany!

Another wonderful post… I just love how you are able to hear and see God through the ordinary things of life! Praying that I would take the time to stop, look, and listen so I can hear Him also…
A great video too… I am so glad that when we have Fridays that we know that Sunday is coming!
Blessings!

What an amazing reminder each time you open up your blinds. And as you see the sunshine, how thankful we can be. He causes the sun to shine too. May you have a blessed Easter. I plan to listen to the radio show over the weekend. I’m interested to hear all that was said. BTW, I haven’t forgotten what you asked me about when I was doing my OB rotation in 1973. I’m praying about that.

Tiffany – Amazing Grace (bagpipes) started playing on your audio player the same time I started playing the Sunday’s Comin’ video.
Unbelievable.
And wouldn’t you know the timing is such that Amazing Grace ends just in time to hear the final “It’s Friday – Sunday’s Comin’!”
May God bless you and your family through the celebration of His resurrection!

Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a wonderful Easter. I love the picture of your cross, especially with the stripes. We are healed by His stripes. He has risen and one day He will come back for us and we will rise. I look forward to that day.
I see that you live in Colorado Springs. I have an uncle and his family who live there also. He’s the last of my mother’s brothers and sisters (13). He’s 84 I think and has 5 boys I think. I haven’t seen him in several years. I do correspond with one of his sons which has been a blessing.
Blessings and have a wonderful Easter,
AliceE.

I love this picture and how God used this to speak, in such a simple way, to your heart and mine. Thank you for not moving that cross. And thank you for the reminder that ‘by His stripes we are healed.’ Amen
