Don’t you just love the effect of throwing a few stones into a calm pool of water?
Something beautiful takes place. Upon impact, the stones sink quickly beyond sight. Their presence is known only by watching the water’s surface. These splashes start a pattern of small circles that expand and smooth out as they go. And as they grow in size they overlap, touching one another and linking together to form a unique design. Magical to see.
I call them “circles of life.”
God reminded me as I took these shots that I can create circles of life too. I can make waves right where I’m at, allowing Him to use my gifts to touch lives. Or I can remain calm and rest. Both have beauty and meaning. One offers reflection. The other reveals design.
I want to live so intimately with Jesus that I know when to reflect by calm water and when to make a big splash.
Don’t you?
Father God, thank you for the way the simplest things teach me about life and living. Show me today whether it’s a day of rest and reflection or whether it’s a rock-n-wave-kind-of-day. My guess is it may be a little of both. Lead the way. I’m listening. And please, Lord, pass me just the right stones at just the right time to touch another. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
Oh wow. I love that. "I want to live so intimately with Jesus that I know when to reflect by calm water and when to make a big splash."
Amen! I definitely need His direction all the time in this!
Amen, Tiffany. We're so often told not to make waves. I say we should, and plenty of them.
Tiffany,
Reflection and Design! Both are needed to live our lives fully! Making waves and refecting in contentment! That is so good! That would defintely teach a good lesson about God's plan for our life!
Thanks Tiffany for sharing your heart here. I really enjoyed this post.

I love this sweetie.
I love seeing the ripple effect on what God is doing. We can make a difference around us. B
Tiff,
Papa spoke to me profoundly one day though a picture much like this one above. I was at a retreat, feeling so stuck. I kept asking Him to show me something personal that showed me He saw me. I kept hoping for a butterfly..though it was a warm October day. No butterfly came. Instead a bug lighted on the pond below and ripples began to stretch out across the pond, little by little. It was fall in the mountains and the leaves were brilliant colors of red, yellow and orange. One of the trees mirrored it's image on the pond. As the ripples continued across the pond it came to the point of the mirrored tree. The water turned into a mosiac.
I knew Papa was speaking to me. He wanted me to know that even in the stillness there is movement.. For in the center, where the bug lighted there was complete stillness. The simple touch started a movement that went out… and the mosiac spoke of the pieces of life pieced together.
These pictures remind me of that time… As you can Imagine many tears were shed….
Love ya!
Hadn't thought about using the ripples on the water in an application like this, but it works. And our ripples can be for good or bad. I was explaining to a young person yesterday that actions they take affect not just them, but their parents, their siblings, their close friends at church and school, everyone around them. Bad decisions and behaviors create a set of ripples that intrude upon the lives of others. But, good decisions have the same affect, but it is a welcome intrusion.
I like Billy's statement – we should make waves, the good kind, the result of kind and loving actions.
Thank you Lord. I pray that I can be a blessing to You in this fashion. I pray that I know through Your guidance to rest or make waves. Use me for Your purpose Father God. In Jesus' name, amen.
Love the insight, the message and the writing! Awesome!
I love this… how wonderful that we can make waves or that we can remain calm and rest, and that both have meaning… this really spoke to me this evening! Thanks so much for continuing to share what God is speaking to you and showing you!
I have been busy and not able to stop by as often, I have missed visiting with you!
Blessings!
