Between loads of laundry and writing an article, I spent my lunch time channel surfing. And what did I find on at least five channels? Anna Nicole Smith’s death. Her loved ones in court fighting over where to bury her still decaying embalmed body.
Is that the lastest, greatest news? Is her sudden death story that intriguing? It must be when all the major news channels broadcast it. It’s amazing to me that one mixed up life can draw such an audience. Maybe it’s because she was a former Playboy centerfold. Maybe it’s because of her money. I found myself annoyed about the whole thing. Why such a fuss over one life no longer here? Just bury the body–somewhere!
Then God convicted me. Her life mattered to God just like mine does. He loved her with an unfailing relentless love. I wonder if she knew that. One life and death is important to God.
I just don’t think like Him in times like this. I’m hoping I can extend grace to the media as they continue to give us blow by blow details of her court case. And her final resting place.
May she rest in peace!
