Wanted to quickly share how God blessed my MOPS Lighten Up and Laugh talk last night. One gal told me at the beginning of our time together that she is the “serious one” in her home. Her two girls are constantly giggling. And that as a 2nd grade teacher, it’s hard to lighten up with a wild bunch of students. I can only imagine! I realize there is a time and place for being playful.
Anyway, as I shared she interacted with me. Great dialogue. At the end of the hour, she said with a smile, “Okay, you’ve convinced me.” Then she challenged the moms to come back next meeting and share how what they did.
What a gift to know my talk challenged at least one mom’s thinking! Thank You, Lord. I couldn’t be MORE grateful to God for using my passion to motivate a mom to change. I don’t want to just go talk, I want to give practical tips so others can go home and put the idea into action. Lightening up and laughing is an important part of raising little ones.
I ended with, “You will never, ever, ever regret having fun with your family.”
Anyway, had to share this praise! I pray for more opportunities should God want to use my voice!

Okay, confession time here. I LOVE to laugh, especially with my grandchildren. One of the funniest things we do whenever we get together is… are you ready for this… it’s not dignified at all… but we laugh A LOT … we have … a burping contest with a cold root beer in a glass bottle. After years of research and experimentation, I have found that to give THE BEST belches.
But I digress. (Clearing my throat and becoming dignified again). I’m glad the Lord is using you to bring laughter into this world.

Hi, Tiffany:
I think your topic of laughter is paramount especially for young mothers. I look back at my grown kids and wish I wasn’t so uptight about a lot of things. I’ll do better with my grandchild! I look forward to listening to any of your excerpts of your teachings on your blog, if that’s possible. You go girl!

That is awesome. I have had people say to me from time to time, “Lighten up!” because I am quite a serious one…’er, but I was reminded in reading your post about the days of homeschooling the kids. We would get to a point of being quite somber and frustrated, when I would put a pencil in my nose and wait for them to look up at me. It was quite the ice breaker…
The other thing we would often do is put in music and dance and I would twirl the kids around and slide them across the wood floor (on their feet holding their hands,-not throwing them! Heavens no!!!)

I have been involved with MOPS for 13 yrs! I am now in Field Leadership with MOPS. Great ministry, glad you took time to share with those Moms!
We moved from CO to MI (where we are now) against my wanting…I tell folks that God put me here to make people laugh! I grew up in the south and it’s a bit reserved up here…I think, “they” think…I’m crazy!
