Happy New Year, friends. I sure hope you are enjoying the first several days of 2012. How you are feeling about another year? Are you excited? Dreaming big by chance? Or are you stressing about the economy? Worried about something? Did you make any resolutions yet? Maybe, like me, you picked a focus word or verse instead.
As I prayed about my focus word or a string of words for 2012 and I sensed God repeating this phrase.
It’s just three words.
One day closer.
These three words will be my 2012 focus.
One.
Day.
Closer.
What does “one day closer” mean?
To me it means I am one day closer to no more sorrow, no more tears. Yes!
One day closer to what God has prepared for those who love Him. No eye has seen, no ear has heard.
One day closer to seeing the great cloud of witnesses who have gone before me, like my grandma and other loved ones.
One day closer to meeting and embracing my baby Grace.
One day closer to experiencing the fullest of God’s perfect love.
One day closer to entering heaven’s gates –where God’s glory reigns.
One day closer to meeting my savior Jesus face to face. Oh what a day!
One day. . .
(For 2012 my focus will be on my eternal home. I am just passing through. I am not home yet. I pray I will live each day with eternal perspective and expectant hope. God is with me and He is with you. Even dark earthly days are bright when seen through His heavenly light.)

PS I’d love for you to share in the comments what God is speaking to in 2012.

Tiffany…One thing I have noticed on all the blogs I follow is that there is so much hope for the New Year in every theme. And I love your word choices! WE are all one day closer to that wonderful day when every eye will see Him. It reminds me of that wonderful Sandi Patti song, “We shall behold Him”
Happy New Year! Lori

Lori, I love that song by Sandi Patty. I’m going to play it on Youtube this morning. Thank you for the reminder of the beauty of that song. Happy New Year!

What a beautiful view. I haven’t chosen a word for the new year, but the verse “consider your ways” goes through my mind frequently.
Tiffany @ Tea w Tiffany says
Consider your ways. Hmm. That’s thought provoking. I need that daily because I struggle with procrastination and yet I dream of many things. So I must consider my ways and take a small step in HIS direction daily. Thank you.
