I continue to feel the tug to attend the upcoming She Speaks conference in July. I’ve tried for a few years to win a scholarship through submitting articles, posting blog entries, random drawings, ect. So far I have not won. That’s okay I believe God wants me to raise my funds this year.
It’s time I move forward in what I feel called to do: Write and speak about Jesus
Here are the ways I will try to raise approximately $500. (By faith, I’ve already booked my flight with the last of our flight points.) If I attend I will attend the “speakers track”. I’ve already been to numerous writing conferences.
* Try to sell a stereo cabinet and a chair on Craigslist
* Try to sell a couple antique items
* Hopefully sell some of my kids’ school uniforms at the recycled uniform sale in May
* Participate in a local arts and crafts one day event selling my photography, which is a stretch for me. I’ve never tried that before. 🙂 (if you live in Colorado Springs area, I can send you information. It’s on Saturday, April 30th.)

What is She Speaks?
The She Speaks Conference is a life-changing conference for women seeking to step out in the passion God has placed on their heart. Hosted by Proverbs 31 Ministries (501(c)3), She Speaks encourages and equips women to make the most of their messages, communicating God’s Word through:
She Writes: (Writers Track) From basic writing guidelines to preparing an article or manuscript for submission, and everything in between. In addition, the opportunity to meet one-on-one with some of the top editors, publishers, and literary agents in the Christian market.
She Speaks: (Speakers Track) Whether speaking in a large arena or leading Bible studies in church, participants will be equipped with the tools needed to effectively share the Word of God, create a bio sheet, market her ministry, and give successful presentations.
She Leads: (Women’s Ministry Track) This track is specifically designed for women’s ministry directors and facilitators. Included are creative ways to reach her community with the life-transforming hope of Jesus, organize small groups, select a team of volunteers, plan successful events, and network with other directors.
