Are you protective of who you tell what? Do you keep parts of your life off limits? Just your secret… If so, what might happen if you were honest about your dreams or your struggles? What if sharing your heart brought you the intimacy you long for, greater freedom and even joy? Would you risk sharing then?
I believe one of the deepest longings of our hearts is to be fully known. And I believe that desire is God-designed. But for many of us, we live in part: part heart, part secret. We give others the acceptable parts of us and we bury the rest. We choose to show the world our pretties. We live as if we are blemish-free, which really is living in part. Living a lie. Living half-heart.
I’m no exception to this trap because I’ve been in hiding lately, and because of my tendency to tuck away, I feel alone.
This is no way to live.
Life is best lived in the raw. Real. Exposed. Seen and heard and fully known.
So would you say you are living in secret today? If so, I invite you to join me in living a more meaningful life.
All heart, not just part.
Challenge: Share a part of your heart(or a secret) with God or a friend today. Confess if needed. Be brave and share a lifelong dream. Blog about it. And tell me if you don’t feel a little more free. 🙂 I dare you.
PS Even if you’re living in secret now, the truth is no one is fully hidden. Your secrets are seen and heard by God. When I ponder His faithful presence, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude because I need One who will never leave me. My secrets are safe with Him. He has my whole heart.
God, investigate my life;
get all the facts firsthand.
I’m an open book to you;
even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking.
You know when I leave and when I get back;
I’m never out of your sight.
You know everything I’m going to say
before I start the first sentence.
I look behind me and you’re there,
then up ahead and you’re there, too—
your reassuring presence, coming and going.
This is too much, too wonderful—
I can’t take it all in!Psalm 139:1-6 The Message
(yes, I see the misspelling on this door and I didn’t do it. Haha)

Popping back in to share a screenshot of the first song that played on Pandora right after I posted this blog. Do you think God’s timing is funny? I’m smiling with ALL of my heart. God loves to repeat truth..
