We are leaving today for a road trip to Arizona. And packing creates stress to me. I fear I might forget something–so I take everything!
A library of books–fiction and nonfiction.
My prayer journal and writing notebook.
DVDs and books for the kids.
Medicine and vitamins.
Summer and winter clothes–just in case.
Trail mix, beef jerky, fruit, sunflower seeds and drinks.
Pillows and a blanket.
Jackets.
The list goes on.
We’re taking our kids to see the Grand Canyon for the first time. I’ve hiked and camped in Havasu Falls twice. I stand in awe of God’s creation every time I go there. I can’t wait to take pictures. Yet I have a fear that my kids may not be all that interested. Will a nine and thirteen-year-old appreciate the beauty? I’m hopeful.
We’re going to see my parents and my two brothers. I look forward to making some new memories. But again I have a fear things might not be the way I expect. So I go open minded to receiving whatever it is. I still feel like a child sometimes when I’m around my parents and I’ve been grown up for many years now. Funny how past roles seem to dominate.
I’m believing for a great time with my family. We’re taking it slow and going to enjoy the travel. We’re not doing the typical rush to Phoenix and hang out there. We’re going to stay in other cities. Visiting Flagstaff, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon and Prescott. We’re only going to Phoenix for a night.
Lord willing, no car problems. Yesterday, out of nowhere, I had a flat tire. I laughed. Luckily, we’re renting a car instead of driving ours. Hope it’s big! We carrying a full load. I carrying load of excitement and fears.
I’ll report in after the trip!

Tiffany, hope your vacation was wonderful. I can’t wait to hear about it! I imagine you’ve experienced the usual stresses of a “family holiday” especiall since it was a road trip, but I trust you created wonderful lifetime memories, too.
We flew OVER the Grand Canyon but we didn’t see you. ๐
