As part of his launch team, I received an advanced copy to read and review. I enjoyed reading Goins’ book. I, too, have a heart of compassion but I find myself getting stuck when I should keep moving. I’ve served in a variety of places over the years. Mentoring teens in jail. Visiting sick people in hospitals. Feeding the homeless. Co-leading post-abortion Bible studies.
All great causes, but all short-term.
Goins’ book challenged me to rethink my current life strategy.
Maybe I need to make a commitment and become wrecked. 🙂
For that alone, I am thankful.

(Sorry for the lack of energy in this post. We’ve been dealing with no hot water and even no water at all for two days. $1600 later, we have a new hot water heater and new some piping in our utility closet. Now to deal with the mold and moisture again. Our basement bedroom flooded a few weeks ago. As you can imagine, my mind isn’t as focused as I would like it to be. But I had to post about this great deal before it ends.)
