Do you believe in life we are either going forward or backwards at all times?
Consider this. Is it possible our lack of movement is actually movement after all? In the wrong direction. Maybe even backwards?
Take exercise for example, I can wish I worked out all I want, but until I do, my body remains out of shape. Or worse, it ages and weakens more each day. My goal of health moves backwards, not forward, just because I choose to do nothing. In this case, no action is costly. So for me to avoid moving backwards, I step forward and enter the pain of strength training.
Today I’m challenged to move FORWARD, not only physically, but spiritually. Forward towards what God has for me. Towards deeper trust and greater love and obedience.
Not passive, but moving forward through action. (Turtles like me tend to move slow, with caution.) The beauty is God goes with me as I crawl forward. He sets my daily pace, whispering encouragement when I am weak. He sets my feet on His solid rock when I feel too wobbly to stand. He prepares a quiet place where I can rest as needed. I find my strength in Him, not me.
Today I choose to move with God.
Forward.
How about you? Is there an area of your life God may be saying FORWARD to you today? If so, run to Him. He will not fail you. He’ll carry you forward.

This is a hard, but good word. Isn’t it all good?
but I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you. But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. They went backward and not forward. Jeremiah 7:23-24(NIV)

Yes and yes! We have to move forward and doing nothing is not an option that will get us there. So thankful today that grace moves us forward. ๐

This reminds me of the old Bob Dylan song (Nicole Nordeman did a remake) You are gonna serve somebody… it may be the devil or it may be the Lord, but you are gonna serve somebody.
We either move toward Him or we move away.
Great post~pressing onward, pushing every hindrance aside out of my way…I want to know Him more!
Love,
Kathy

Just as it is so easy to fail to exercise the body, it is just as easy to fail to exercise the spirit/soul. Thanks for the reminder to be in constant movement toward God. wb

I'm praying for forward action with God. Even if it's a crawl, I'm moving forward. Thank You LORD.

Moving forward with God.
Thank you.

Tiffany, good point. Not moving is like going backwards, much like saying "I can't decide" is really a decision. When it comes to God we better be moving forward, cause I sure don't want to think about hearing my name and the word "back-slider" in the same sentence. Hugs,
Rose

Tiffany,
I try to keep moving forward and even when I find myself further behind than where I would like to be, I just keep pushing forward to the greater goal that lies ahead.

I believe God is always trying to move me forward in my faith…with every test He gives me…He's giving me an opportunity to live out my faith in Him as He works diligently to perfect it. He's got ALOT more patience than I do…but He's teaching me that if I rely completely on His strength and power…His presence is simply enough for me to trust.
Bless you sister!

Just a little something from Judy says
This post reminds me of a book that I read by Chuck Swindoll, "Two Steps Forward and One Step Back". The most comforting thing to me is to realize that He knows our pace and our personalities and He patiently leads and guides us through this life. This was an inspiring post. Thanks for sharing.
