I’m a John C Maxwell fan. I love how simple and practical his books are. One of my favorite books of his is Failing Forward.
Why is it we hate to fail? Why is it we think failure means we are a “failure?” Why does failing stop us dead in our tracks and cause us to quit? Can we learn from our mistakes and keep going?
I hope so. I’m trying to no longer beat myself up when I mess up. I’m trying to remain teachable and acknowledge failure is a normal part of life–and success.
I love Maxwell’s thoughts on failure. Here are a few:
Every failure you experience is a fork in the road. It’s an opportunity to take the right action, learn from your mistakes, and begin again.
How people see failure and deal with it–whether they possess the ability to look beyond it and keep acheiving–impacts every aspect of their lives.
In my experience, the problems of people’s past impact them in one of two ways: They experience either a breakdown or a breakthrough.
My wish for you is the latter. May your failures lead you to greater breakthrough!

Thank you for sharing that post. It is so hard to look at failure that way but it is the truth. We could feel so much better about ourselves if we would accept that. I will keep that in mind. Thanks and God Bless!

I love John Maxwell. I refer to his “Thinking for a Change” often and have learned how ALL THINGS work together for them that Love the LORD.
Failure draws me to my knees and Him for help. Then, it isn’t failure anymore but fruit producing love.
Good post Tiffany.
