I had a strange burden come over me after midnight last night. So much so that I had to write it down. Every thought I had was dark and discouraging and depressing. It hit me by surprise because I wasn’t upset that I knew of. I had just finished reading the first three chapters of Plan B by Pete Wilson. But the worst time for me to handle my thoughts is when I’m tired. And the enemy knows that full well.
I wrote words like:
selfish, lost, lonely, paralyzed, prideful, can’t hear God, lack training, need wisdom, lack of resources, need help, pouting, think too much and do too little, crazy, care what people think still, overwhelmed by others’ choices, waiting, missed boat, choices & more choices, why keep going, don’t want to waste my life, am I the only one who cares, need hope, need the Holy Spirit.
Funny thing is earlier yesterday a bloggy friend e-mailed me and said she was burdened to pray for me. She attached scripture and signed off with, “Just know I am praying whatever the battle.” She knew before I did and by faith she prayed. What a gift! I believe her prayers made a huge difference. Who knows how dark the dark night might have been.
This morning I praised God for carrying me through the dark. I feel His peace again. I spent time journaling my thanks, proclaiming truth and reading His Word. God is good. He’s my Prince of Peace. Period.
So I’m declaring today a day of rest. I’m resting in the LORD’s loving embrace. I am safe and sound, secure and set free. Thank you, Jesus!
Do you need a day of rest too?
If so, join me, Jesus is calling:

Tiffany,
I can't wait to come back and join in your meme. I too, feel the burden to set more boundaries around my time and realize what is truly important in my day and weed out what isn't. Great post and praying for you always.

So glad to do 'battle' with you when God calls us to PRAY in the heavenly realms! He is sooo awesome! I am actually going to tap a nap this very moment as I need a moment of REST in His arms too!
Hold tight to Him in Praise and declaration of your love for Him AND for HIS LOVE for you! The enemy will flee with his tail between his legs!
We win the Victory because Jesus has already defeated the foe of our souls!

I have concluded that the devil mostly works the night shift. That seems to be when he attacks me the most often.
Donb't forget that he tempted Jesus after 40 days of fasting in the wilderness. The devil wants you tired and run-down.

I love how God puts on on each other's hearts. He is good.
We all need special times of rest, Tiffany. May God refresh, revive and replenish you.

God is so awesome and powerful. We aren't able to comprehend it… but I love Him for it anyway! Because HE "is" in control!
