I’m restless. The clock is running out to mail Christmas packages and I just started shopping this week. My kids start Christmas break this weekend. Plus I haven’t decided yet if I should send cards or not. There is so much to do and so little time. I feel my stress level rising. Don’t you? Yet I long to make Christmas meaningful. I want my kids to experience giving to others less fortunate. But it’s hard to be purposeful with all the busyness and my restlessness.
Here’s one of my favorite quotes about our relationship with God.
You have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you. –St. Augustine
As this year comes to a close, I am trying to rest. Rest in knowing that I am completely loved and accepted and forgiven. Rest in the saving grace of Jesus, who loved you and me enough to come to earth as a baby, live 33 years and die to save the sins of mankind.
Rest–a comfort for Christmas restlessness.

So well said!!
May you find the His REST even in the “rush” of the season.
I am with ya on still having a hundred things to do – and wanting it to be meaningful – and not just focusing on the “to do lists” before me.

I was just battling with these same issues over on my blog – the pull between peace at Christmas and stress at Christmas.
Thanks for that quote. It was just what I needed to hear today.
