Lord God, it’s a new day and I praise You. You are the maker of all beautiful things. Oh how I love the beauty You bring into each new day. Morning silence. The trickle of coffee brewing. An orange and pink whirled sunrise. A puppy resting at my feet. A peaceful place to write, my new home office. Beautiful worship music.
Thank You for giving me another day to learn more about You, Your grace and love.
You are the great I AM.
I am your child. Needy, always hungry and thirsty. Wanting Your time and attention. Easily distracted. Easily tired. Simple minded.
Thank You for being the One I can lean into, the One I can cry to, the One I can share my secret dreams with. Thank You for the sweetness of Your presence. There in Your presence I am filled with joy. Big joy.
May my lips always praise Your name.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
Beautiful One.
Holy One.
Righteous One.
I worship You in spirit and truth. Please reveal anything that needs to go from my life. I want to live clean before You. Cleanse my heart. You know when I find myself looking for satisfaction in other things. Some days it’s sugar that I run to. Some times it’s my love of learning. Other days it’s Facebook for friendship. Only YOU can fill my lonely places.
Come, Jesus, come and be my everything. Fill me with Your spirit. Speak new life into my ordinary day. No day with You is every really ordinary because You make all things new. Lord, You are extraordinary.
Take my life and mold it into whatever You have planned. Break my heart for what breaks Yours. Increase my ability to share boldly what You have done in my life. Open my eyes to notice the needs of others. Turn my ear to hear what You want me to listen to. Block out the distractions that are keeping me from You. Increase my understanding of truth. Give me strength today. Strength to do the simple things that seem so hard. Give me energy and power from on high. You are able.
Inspire me to see more.
More of YOU!!
Jesus, You are the gift of all gifts. Nothing compares to You. You alone save and heal broken hearts. Thank You for saving mine.
I love You, Jesus.
I give You my life again today.
I surrender all. Search me and know me more.
In Your grace I rest,
Amen

Your post reminded me of a hymn we used to sing when I was a kid. While the rest of the church was singing, “sweat peace, wonderful peace,” for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to sing as loudly as I could, “sweat peas, wonderful peas.”

Timothy, I have seen you comment on Rachelle’s blog numerous times. You are quite funny and insightful. Thanks for stopping by and offering me your peas. 🙂
