I ran into a precious friend at the Mardels(a Christian retailer) two weeks ago. We hugged and talked about all the beautiful artwork there. We showed each other our favorites. It was a fun surprise to see her there.
Within five minutes, she pulled a small orange foam heart out of her pocket, saying, “Jesus told me to give this to you.” She explained that someone gave it to her earlier that morning. As she had felt it in her pocket, she sensed God saying, “Give it to Tiffany, give it to Tiffany.” She didn’t know why.
I know why.
I’m fighting a battle of the heart. I’m fighting to believe truth and remove lies. I’ve been dealing with childhood issues and issues with those I love. That simple token was an expression of God’s love for me at a time when I felt empty and defeated. I put the heart in my pocket and smiled, thanking God for hope.
A couple days later, I found the heart at the bottom of my washer. Another reminder of God’s love. I sensed God saying He’s washing my heart. Exactly what I’ve been praying for–a pure heart, a heart like His.
It’s not easy. But I believe God will protect my heart. Even as it hurts, I trust I am secure in Him. Then that night, I read my devotional book, Search my heart, O God. Kay Arthur’s prayer said,
Lord, when I entered into covenant with You, I made a commitment to follow You in every aspect of my life. Cleanse my heart, dear Father, from any hint of compromise with the ways of the world. As I’ve told You before, I want to be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful to You, prepared for every good work.
God works in mysterious ways. He uses others and orange foam hearts and washing machines.
** Thank you, Donna, for your obedience to the prompting of passing on the heart. It spoke volumes and touched my heart. **

I’m glad I stopped in…your post has blessed me today. A friend gave me something several years ago that I still carry with me, and it has had a similar impact on me many, many times. We have a big God who often chooses to work in the smallest ways…
