One of the things I did with my life coach last year was come up with a list of my top ten values. My list helps me live each day with more satisfaction and purpose. I’m so thankful for my time with Gloria. She helped me see more of who God created me to be.
Three of my ten values are(in no certain order):
- Encouraging others
- Creativity
- Appreciation for beauty–in nature, music, my home, and in others.
I challenge each one of you to come up with your top ten values if you haven’t already. Think of those positive times in your life that stand out. What were you doing? Where you alone or with others? What is the value that was honored behind it? This process takes time but is so worth your effort. After you do, post your values somewhere you can see them everyday. My list helps me know what to say yes and no to.
What are some of your values? And how do you live them out in your everyday life?

Wow, what a great idea. And I love your mug!
I have been thinking of getting either a life coach or a spiritual director… maybe first one, then the other. Sounds like it was really great for you.

Never heard of a “Life Coach” – is that like a counselor??
Like the mug too ๐ Having Life Values is great too ๐ I’ll have to think about it.

Tiffany… this doesn’t have anything to do with your post. But I’m looking for women to contribute their stories for a book I’m working on. If I could ask a favor… could you post a link to my blog (today’s post) anytime in the next week or so? It might really help me get more women contributing. I’d appreciate it! Thanks.

At Tiffany’s request I’m posting an explanation of what a Life Coach is. Coaching is a relatively new profession (15 years or so). A Coach is a person who works with a client who wants to go forward in an area of her life or achieve a goal. So, there are Career Coaches, Executive Coaches, Life (or personal) Coaches, and other types too. The type of Coach a person is reflects a niche they have a strength in. Coaching is forward-focused. Counseling is often backward focused, as the client seeks healing from the past. Also, coaching is often done by phone. I am a Life Coach and worked for a while with Tiffany last Fall. Please feel free to contact me if you want to get more info about coaching: gloriarose@juno.com or visit my blog: http://www.gloriarose.typepad.com. I’m happy to answer questions or direct you to more information.
