Remember this 1972 love song by Jim Croce:
If I could save time in a bottle, the first thing that I’d like to do,
is to. . .
(Okay I know, this reveals my age. I have siblings who weren’t even born yet.)
Today was one of those days I wish I could bottle time. I had a great four hour conversation with a dear friend. We talked about the things of God. How God speaks to us in the middle of hard times and good times. How the Word comes alive and is personal to us. How regardless if others approve of us, we are approved of by God. We talked about how comforting it is to know who we are in Christ.
I couldn’t believe we sat in a coffee house that long. Our time flew by. It’s amazing how reenergized I get by listening to a friend’s faith journey and sharing mine. It’s living out the Scripture, “iron sharpens iron.”
So if I could save time in a bottle, I would save the time I had today. And bring it out again on those days when my faith is weak, when my spirit is heavy, when I doubt, or when I struggle with wanting the approval of others.
What are the times you would bottle?

Wow, does that song bring back memories…
I think I’d like to save my wedding day…the days my kids were born (minus the pain!)…the days both of my nieces got married…the walks through leaves in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, near Lake Superior…time spent with my sisters, just talking and “being” together…
Okay, there are too many to name! But you got me thinking, for sure. What a neat way to count our blessings!

I’m like you… I would bottle precious moments with friends. They energize me like nothing else. When I go out with a girlfriend or two, it never ceases to amaze my husband that we are always out for at least 3 hours doing nothing but talking! (Well, eating, too.) And it’s not gossip or idle speech, it’s usually filled with the Spirit and we have so many insights to share with each other. Hubby finds it hard to believe that we even discuss theology… but Christ is not a “separate” part of our lives, He infuses every part of us. So naturally He inhabits our discussions. These are some of my favorite times in life.

What a great post! Got me to reflect on some amazing moments in my life too…among them would be similar to Joni’s comments….My Wedding Day was PERFECT!!! The birth of my kiddos and bringing them home – and being so in love with each one of them that my heart felt like it would burst…special moments with family and friends….time with my Dad and Grandparents before they passed away….and having my sister live near me…and my list could go on…
It is great to reflect on these blessings!!
