I saw this truck on the way home from picking up kids on Monday. First noticing the orange cone, then the bumper sticker. God spoke to my heart in that moment, and there was no hiding place, no place to run. He wanted to catch me before I fell.
I was moving towards “safety as my goal” again.
Why? Because I am out on a limb with Him lately. Dangling my knobby kneed legs over the branch I’m on. Feeling like I need a comfy, cozy nest again. Wishing I could grow big wings and fly high.
“Not so fast,” God says. “Let Me teach you to fly.”
“Lord, please forgive me for making safety my goal over and over again. It’s all I used to know. Safety. But now that I know You I want YOU to be my goal. Not safety. Safety is no place to live. There’s nothing there for me anymore. It’s a dry, dead place. Please replace the worn out safety sticker on my heart, let it read: Jesus, You are my goal! I can run to You and be found safe. And Lord, while we’re talking, can I get off this branch and fly? I’m getting tired of the weeble wobbles up here. It sure feels high. And PS, I’m afraid of heights.”
ADDED PIC TAKEN THIS AFTERNOON, nothing like seeing this twice in a week to get the point!!

If I weren't in the same boat with you, I might say something nice like "all we have to do is trust God." Learning fly involves a lot of falling and lots more trust than playing it safe. I'm with you! I don't always like it, but I know He's got great things in store. ๐
Melanie says
Yes. I've always liked the place of safety, too.

Amen! I needed this today, Tiffany. My knees are wobbling as God opens new doors, worrying about tomorrow instead of allowing Him to help me to fly.
Blessings, sweet lady. I'm praying for you!

Sometimes, God speaks loud and clear, doesn't He!
I know that limb you're on! ๐ God always has something to teach me when He tells me to "go out on a limb" …I'm not a big risk taker. I like my safety zone too. But when He speaks – I'm learning to listen. I know from experience that the end result is going to change me – for the better. I'm not flying yet – but I'm learning to leap with JOY.
Thanks for sharing, Tiffany
God Bless
