Attending the Writing for the Soul conference in February was worth every penny. This conference was different than the previous two because I didn’t leave a bunch of nuts and bolts to add to my writing toolbox. But I did leave with a challenge.
A challenge to create.
McNair Wilson spoke on creativity. His words are still alive in heart.
“What do you do best? Do you do it? Do you do it the most? Do you do it at all?”
“What would you be like actively fully creative?”
His advice: It’s okay to play. Become curious again. Take risks. Spend an hour each day putting something into the world that wasn’t there before.
He reminded us that we are created in God’s image. Isn’t God creative? Just look around.
One way for me to put something into the world is to write. Not just anything, something heartfelt, something deep, something encouraging, something honest.
What is it for you?

This post goes nicely with the one before. I have alot of creativity bottled up inside, that doesn’t come out for fear of imperfection. But I appreciate the call to let it all out.
