Before I left for vacation, I was talking on my phone and during my call–without warning–my phone died. What happened to the beep warning? When I looked down, this is what I saw.
I knew right then God was trying to get my attention.
I allowed the busyness and stress of life to drain me. My spiritual battery was bone dry. God knew I needed a recharge. Like a cordless phone, I needed to be put aside on His charging dock. I cannot be in constant use and thrive.
It’s like God was saying, “Come to me, my child. You’re running on empty. Your battery life is gone, can you feel it? Time to recharge. Nothing else will give you renewed energy like resting in me. Now for the question. Are you willing to tuck yourself away with me and sit awhile? My charging dock is always open. There’s always a place for you. I know your needs. I see your weariness. When you are ready, I will be waiting.”

How ’bout you? Do you need recharging? If so, take this post as a loving reminder from our LORD to pull away from the fast paced world and find peace and rest in Him again.
Thank You, Jesus, for reminding me through my dead phone to come to You. You amaze me.

Your stop, look and listen post have me looking all around. I admit, I still get caught up in what my job demands of me but I have also seen moments where GOD was trying to get my attention. Last week I was waiting for a friend to come by and she was running late. I mean at least 45 min. Tardiness is my pet peeve and I just decided to wait in the driveway for her. I was getting irritated and just plopped on the pavement next to my car. I decided to take a quick look at my tires thinking I need to rotate then soon and I never ever noticed that the word Serenity was written on each tire. I immediatley paused, smile and relaxed. It was very profound for me and I thought of you! Thanks for that moment of "Serenity"

God is very creative in the ways He gets our attention, don't you think??!!
I am currently in the middle of a very big desire to get away from the house for a couple of days to be intentionally silent before Him. But for whatever reason (And I am trusting He knows it!) the opportunity is eluding me. I have a strong sense God is leading me to listen in the midst of the noise. Not my desire, but I know He is trustworthy.
So I choose trust.
May His peace rest upon you today!

I know what you mean. While I can't take a vacation right now, I was at least able to pull back from a lot of responsibilities for a week and just relax a bit. Taking that extra time for a little extra time in prayer helps.

Tiffany,
So true! Every now and then we feel we can tackle just one more thing on our perpetual list of things to do today, and no where in there do we put time for ourselves. Time to just stop, watch the clouds float by, enjoy a sunrise or sunset or simply watch the rain fall.
I love how you related that right back to your current circumstance. I am praying for you dear sister and hope that God gives you a much needed boost.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat

Great post Tiffany! I love how God will use anyone and anything to get our attention. But we do have to be paying attention. Obviously – you were!
Sorry I have not stopped by for a while. I just realized that though I am a follower – I somehow did not have you on my own blog list on my own sidebar. So now you are THERE grilfriend.
"B" has told me how much you two have in common spiritually and how much help and insight you have given her along the way.
I'll be checking in again.
Choosing JOY,
Stephanie

Hey Tiffany,
I just got your comment you left me back in April. Tells you how long it's been since I got on my blog. I've gotten where I'm on Facebook more because I have more friends there. (Look me up if you're on there.)
Thanks for your input on the audio editing. I would love to help you in your editing, if you ever have the need.
Yes, I do still keep up with you through my daily email subscriptions. Your blogs are such an inspiration to me…always full of such truth, like this one. God constantly has to remind me that I can't keep going without my daily recharging.
I'm still writing for the magazine and am currently working on writing a Bible study. I'm taking my "Joy in the Furnace" article and making it into a six-week in depth study. It's pretty exciting. I re-published that article (in two parts) the last two months and just posted it on my blog, if you'd like a sneak peak at the general concept. The study, of course, if much deeper, but it takes the six principles from the article.
Take care!

Tiffany,
I love to glean from you! I love that you can take a dead phone battery and turn it into a lesson from the Lord….but then again…He is all things!
Great lesson and Yes, He is filling me up these days! Hallalujah!
Missed you my friend while I was in the hospital and recuperating.
Big hugs!
