Don’t blame suffering in the world on the anger of God. He’s not mad; he didn’t mess up. Follow our troubles to their headwaters, and you won’t find any angry or befuddled God. But you will find a sovereign God.
Your pain has a purpose. Your problems, struggles, heartaches, and hassles cooperate toward one end — the glory of God.”~Max Lucado, It’s Not About Me~
Had a little taste of suffering today. A spoonful, but enough to want God’s presence and comfort even more. The problem was I had been avoiding telling the whole truth. And when it came out, I felt ashamed and immature. I pride myself on my communication skills(pride, hmm?).I wanted to tuck tail and run. But I couldn’t. Within thirty minutes, my friend rang my doorbell. She gladly embraced me and offered grace. She was deeply hurt but she forgave me. I am still sorrowful and have a more somber view of my own depravity today. A good place to be. Humbled and in need of a Savior.
I am thankful for this pain. May God get all glory. And may I be willing to face adversity next time head on. With God as my guide and strength.
Thank you to Hopeful Spirit for hosting this week’s In Other Words.

We are all in need of a Savior.
And maybe, just maybe, we’re supposed to help each other see Him more clearly.
I know I see Him in you.

Avoiding telling the whole truth? I have NEVER done that! (Tongue in cheek) And tripping over the embarassement that ensues…I’ve been there before. And it just magnifies His grace.

That’s what HE does…
meets us where we are and then blows us away with grace!

Thank you for sharing your sin in humility with all of us. It then frees all of us to be open, honest and transparent with each other. Who are we kidding if we even entertain the thought that we can hide from God?
Have a blessed evening.

Wonderful post. Short, succinct, poignant and pointed. What happened is irrelevant. Your feelings and what you learned matter.
Thanks for participating this week!
