“Love is beautiful, but it is also terrible–terrible in its determination to allow nothing blemished or unworthy to remain in the beloved.”
~ Hannah Hurnard ~
Ever heard this phrase? God loves you too much to leave you the way you are. That’s what Hurnard’s quote makes me think of. I also think of the scripture in Ecclesiastes that says “Everything is beautiful in its time.”
God’s way of removing my blemished or unworthy parts is painful. At times I submit. Sometimes I rebel. Why do I rebel against God? Because comfort is my friend.
God has allowed heartbreaking lessons to purify me. Like when my friend dumped me because of my critical spirit. I learned the consequences of my negative words. At the time I felt so betrayed, but now I see God loved me too much to allow me to go on acting that way. I’m far from perfect in my speech but I’m a little less abrasive.

I usually just hear God loves you just the way you are. It seems sermons often emphasize this and forget that God is also just… Blessings

Comfort is easier than change. Sorry your friend dumped you though. Forgiveness is just as important as personal growth, right?

We are constantly being refined in Him. It is painful but your loyalty to come to His feet, gives you another jewel in your crown.
Sometimes I forget that He is in control of those painful moments but when I go to Him,I am reminded I am in the purification process.
You are the sweetest person I know Tiffany. Thanks for always sharing your heart and what Jesus puts on your mind to write.
