Another post because I said I would post for 30 days straight. This is harder than I thought on weekends.
My weekend was a whirlwind of emotions. Joy. Fear. Gratitude.
Joy: I enjoyed the wedding of a friend. It was beautiful. God centered. I cried when the bride walked down the aisle and when she said her vows. I love how God brought this couple together. Both waited for a godly spouse. They weren’t willing to compromise. Their waiting paid off.
Fear: When we returned from the wedding, there were numerous police cars and a swat team surrounding my neighborhood. About six houses away, across a main street. Bystanders gathered at the corner. News channel vehicles were arriving. When I inquired about what happened, I found out the scene wasn’t safe yet. So Hannah and I left for the mall, praying for the safe surrender of the suspect. Later, the man was arrested. Domestic violence. I haven’t seen guns that big that close to home. Swat teams carry HUGE weapons.
Gratitude: I’m thankful my son walked away from the stove when he did. A second after he turned towards me, a glass bowl exploded. He could have lost an eye or worst. Glass, water, and noodles went everywhere. I told Justin that was God’s grace and protection. He said, “I guess a miracle happened today.” I agreed.
More gratitude: I’m thankful for the chance to talk to the man who bought our first home. We drove by and said hello. This was our first conversation with him since he bought our home four years ago. He still loves the house.
I am thankful for the opportunity to visit our former neighbor friends. It was great to pop in and hear how they are doing. Boy have their kids grown up. Guess we are all getting older!
Okay, that’s a post!

Tiffany, I agree this NaBloPoMo commitment is challenging. But, pausing to be thankful is worthwhile. And, taking time to read your post today made me thankful too. I smiled while I read about the wedding–and am thankful Justin is okay–and you and Hannah too, for that matter!
Thanks for posting.
