I wonder how many times God will have to drag me forward.
I wonder how many times I will only move if I get a treat.
I wonder how many times God will have to get behind me and push to keep me moving.
I’m such a donkey.
Stubborn.
Wanting to be fed and satisfied all the time. Needing a reward every step of the way.
Slow to learn, not eager to keep moving.
Yep, a mule at heart.
Lord, thank You for never giving up on a mule like me. Thank You for your gentle push when I need it most. Please break me of my stubborn will. We’ve got places to go and I’m ready to keep moving. Yes, even without a treat. ๐ I want to follow You, Jesus. Amen

Yep…I'm a mule, too! Not real proud of my stubbornness, but I must admit it.

Blessings Tiffany…Poor little donkeys! How sweet and weighed down! How stubborn!
Not proud of this either but God has been breaking me of my mule like qualities also. Thank you Tiffany for your honesty and prayer for all of us stubborn mules.
God never has dragged me or coaxed me with treats but perhaps I expected Him too! He has been gentle and my life has been rewarded though I've traveled the rough road of a mule. I'm privileged to know that it was a chosen donkey that carried Jesus
as they shouted "Hosanna"… so I will carry Him close to my heart as He has carried me.
Perhaps He needs to give me a push to get me moving forward instead of stuck in the mud but I know that He has a perfect plan for you yet in the works and you are accomplishing
more than you think each step. Yes,
He is breaking us of our stubborn ways and will. May His will be done according to His plan to complete a good work in you, not many works, but focused and directed ones…
Hope you got my email… from my Giving Thanks for you and my Gratitude for God working and flowing through you to others.
Let go of the reigns and give Him free reign, He loves you so much as
I do…(((hugs)))
Love and peace in Christ,
Peggy

Thanks, friends. ๐
And about the coaxing of treats, I see this more as "what's in it for me?" Will I get something if I come with You, Lord?
Something for me to consider as I think of His invitation. It's about our relationship, the reason He pushes me and calls me out. It's not to make me a work horse. But rather for me to join Him in where He is already going.
Why I resist sometimes is beyond me?
I think our culture teaches us to look for a treat.

A message spoken in truth Tiffany for all of us…
May we yield to His touch on our lives willingly for His touch is filled with love and grace.
Love you.

Irritable Mother says
Ah, yes.
HE pulls and pushes and coaxes. Perfectly.
With the right amount of grace and discipline, patience and chastising.
I need that wisdom for parenting!

I'm so glad I found you. You are speaking my language — donkey talk! Describing me here to a TEA! Blessings

Yes, I'm a stubborn little mule at times, too.
But just think, it was a donkey that Jesus rode into Jerusalem before His crucifixion. And it was a donkey that Mary rode on her way to Bethlehem where she gave birth to our Savior.
When a mule or a donkey is in submission to it's master, it's a mighty useful beast. Look at how strong they are. They're used to go down into the Grand Canyon…pack mules, strong, focused, sure footed.
So even a stubborn mule can be broke and useful.
Hee-Haw!

Yep, I'm right there with you. Stubborn and needing an affirmative "treat" to go in the right direction.
But, I want to yield as Jesus invites: "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Great words and great pictures, too.

Yep, mule like. I see that in me too. Great visual reminders. I think I need a shove too. (-:

Oh how I can relate, Tiffany! But we're trying, right? I'm grateful God sees my heart and knows I don't WANT to be a mule. ๐
By the way–beautiful new profile picture! Love it!
